A Deep Dive into Our Fleet and What It’s Made Up Of

Careers

With a robust fleet of 300 vehicles spread far and wide across the country, Egertons is equipped to handle any vehicle repair or recovery situation, as each vehicle in our fleet is fitted with the latest cutting-edge technology to ensure quick and efficient service, and our strategically placed depots throughout the UK allow us to deploy the most suitable vehicle from the nearest location, ensuring a prompt service.

At Egertons, we aim to be by your side within 45 minutes or less, and our rapid response technicians are trained to establish the most efficient way to resolve any incident, so you can be on your way quickly.

Whether it’s by using our low loaders and airbag units, or rolling out our rotating and sliding cranes, our incident support vehicles are capable of resolving any breakdown crisis and make up the essential backbone to our nationwide fleet.

In fact, we have the experience and expertise needed to rescue any size or type of vehicle from any incident or location in the UK, and with our trademark colours and branding, you won’t miss our vehicles arriving on the scene!

It all starts with a phone call

From the moment you first ring our team, we start a crucial process to determine the nature of the accident or breakdown, how we’ll get to you and which vehicles will get the job done in the most efficient and safest way.

Our triage process involves asking critical questions such as the exact location, type of load, intended destination and the severity of the situation, and once we have all the essential information, our team gets straight to work on determining the most appropriate emergency response vehicle to deploy.

To do this, we evaluate our 300 vehicle strong fleet, each equipped with the most advanced technology which have led us to become one of the leading vehicle rescue and recovery operators in the UK.

Keen to take a deeper dive into those fleet vehicles?

Please welcome to the stage:

  • The service van: an Egertons staple used for everyday roadside repairs of cars and vans. Equipped with a Rapid Deployment Towing (RDT) system, these vans can deploy a towing system on the spot if a car needs urgent recovery, saving valuable time
  • The commercial service van: a long wheelbase commercial service van designed for repairing commercial vehicles, equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to handle more complex roadside breakdowns involving commercial vehicles
  • The heavy underlift: featuring a crane that goes under the casualty vehicle to lift it up, making it perfect for recovering heavy commercial vehicles from the roadside or moving them from one location to another
  • The low loader: one of our most used incident support vehicles especially trailers or heavy commercial vehicles that cannot be towed by an underlift. It’s used when a unit and trailer have rolled over, with the rotator helping to turn the vehicle back upright
  • The slidebed: our main truck for everyday roadside recoveries, used for both cars and vans and featuring a spec lift, enabling us to tow two vehicles with just one resource
  • The 7.5 tonne slidebed: similar to our larger slidebeds, the 7.5-tonne slidebed is used for carrying weights less than 12 tonnes, making it ideal for lighter recoveries
  • The rotator: primarily used for accidents involving heavy commercial vehicles that have rolled over, featuring both an underlift for towing and a crane to upright the vehicle
  • The Hiab Accident Unit: used for more serious accidents, this comes with a crane on the back to lift vehicles rather than just using a winch. This highly capable truck provides complete peace of mind, knowing it can handle any serious incident our teams encounter
  • And our trusty 4x4s: small but powerful trucks used for winch outs. They are amongst the most reliable vehicles in the Egertons fleet, perfect for rescuing vehicles stuck in mud, snow or other difficult situations
