Why we’d always rather fix it at the roadside

When one of your vehicles comes to an unscheduled stop, you don’t want it on the back of a truck. You want it moving again. So do we.

That’s why, whatever the vehicle, our first question is always the same: can we fix it here? More often than not, the answer is yes. Roadside repairs account for 86% of the breakdowns we attend – and every one of those is a vehicle that didn’t need towing, a load that didn’t need moving, and a driver whose day got back on track. In turn, it means we are preventing onward recovery, reducing any further downtime, and minimising unnecessary garage visits.

It starts with the right questions

A good roadside fix starts long before we arrive. The moment you call, our control room team gets to work on three things:

  • What’s happened? We ask about the exact location, the vehicle, the load, where it’s heading and what’s gone wrong.

  • What’s needed? Using those answers, we work out whether it’s likely to be a repair or a recovery, and plan accordingly.

  • Who’s closest? We dispatch the right vehicle, the right technician, and one closest to the incident – first time.

Our control room runs around the clock, with live tracking across our fleet of over 400 specialist vehicles. So, we always know where everyone is, and who’s best placed to help.

Workshops on wheels

Our technicians turn up in fully equipped service vans, stocked with diagnostic kit and the latest vehicle tooling. That means they can find the fault fast and fix it there and then – rather than towing your vehicle to a workshop and waiting for a slot.

Fixed properly, not patched up

Speed matters, but so does getting it right. Every roadside repair is carried out to the highest industry standards. We’re accredited to PAS 43, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001, and all our technicians are fully qualified in commercial vehicle repair.

Can’t fix it? We’ll still get you where you need to be

Occasionally, a roadside repair just isn’t on the cards. When that happens, we don’t simply drop your vehicle off and leave you to it.

We’ll get your vehicle, your driver and your load to wherever they need to go – even if that’s three different places. Original destination, company depot or preferred workshop: you tell us, and we’ll sort it.
